CHANGE OF COMMAND AT 6 REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

The passing of command within the 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps exemplifies the rich traditions and formalities inherent in military transitions. Lt Col L B S U K Liyanagedara's assumption of the role of Commanding Officer on 13 May 2024, marked the commencement of a new chapter for the regiment. The formal ceremony, complete with a Guard Turnout and religious observances, underscored the significance of the occasion as Lt Col Sampath Liyanagedara officially took on his duties, planting a sapling to symbolize growth and renewal within the unit.

Preceding this momentous event, on 10 May 2024, a farewell ceremony honored the service of outgoing Commanding Officer Lt Col P W N P W B S U B Pilimatalawwe psc. Following military protocol, Lt Col Suranga Pilimatalawwe handed over his responsibilities after completing his tenure.
