The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SVB–SLSC) carried out a compassionate outreach initiative on 18 July 2025, extending support to a child facing multiple health challenges.
The child, belonging to the family of an NCO serving in the 2(V) SLSC, has been diagnosed with several serious medical conditions, including congenital heart defects, visual impairment, mobility difficulties, chronic constipation, recurrent urinary tract infections, and a kidney-related condition.
Moved by the child’s condition, the President of SVB–SLSC personally visited the family, offering words of encouragement and emotional support. Understanding the need for further medical attention, arrangements were promptly made to consult a specialist at a recognized child eye clinic in Rajagiriya. The necessary medical expenses for this consultation and follow-up were fully covered by the SVB–SLSC.
In addition, the branch ensured the child would receive the required treatment support, including assistance for essential medical needs such as vision care.
This initiative reflects SVB–SLSC’s continuous efforts to care for the well-being of military families, especially during times of hardship. Their proactive involvement and dedication to uplifting the lives of those in need reaffirm the branch’s commitment to its humanitarian mission.
