The Chief Signal Officer and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General Sajith Liyanage USP nps psc, has conducted an official visit to the 3RD Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 04TH April 2025.
The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Major Ushan Kariyawasam USP psc, the Commanding Officer, with drive pass. The group photograph was taken with all Officers and key appointments of Other Ranks marking to the significance of the visit.
The Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps addressed the troops, reminiscing about his cherished memories in the prestigious unit, which he proudly regards as his mother unit. The Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General Sajith Liyanage USP nps psc, emphasized his vision for the future of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, aligning it with the Army Commander's philosophy. By doing so, he set a clear direction for continued excellence, ensuring the Regiment maintains peak operational readiness while giving utmost priority to the well-being and professional development of its soldiers. Further, the Colonel Commandant elaborated on the importance of upholding the “Core Values” and “Principles of the Signals” which serve as the foundation for the Regiment’s continued success in both operational and administrative spheres. Later, the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps attended an all ranks tea.
The Commanding Officer elaborated the role, task, operational and administrative functioning of the unit. During the briefing Maj Gen Sajith Liyanage USP nps psc emphasized the importance of technology in enhancing the professionalism of the Army.
Then, the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps visited the camp premises. Finally, the formalities of the day were culminated by the Lunch at the Officers' Mess and Maj Gen Sajith Liyanage USP nps psc has marked his commemorative message in the Visitors’ book to emphasize the memorable occasion prior to his departure.
