The Sri Lanka Signal Corps marked the dawn of the New Year with a grand celebration that blended tradition and comradeship. The event was held on 10th April 2025 at the Gymnasium of the Army Physical Training School, Panagoda due to the adverse weather condition.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals, and the President of the Signals Seva Vanitha branch. The formal commencement of the festival was marked by lighting of the traditional oil lamp. The event was made even more memorable by the attendance of families of officers and other ranks of the Regiment, adding glamour and warmth to the dynamic atmosphere.
A wide array of events captivated the hearts and minds of all participants, featuring traditional games and competitions. Additionally, musical chairs, and fancy-dress performances added to the festive ambiance. Special events were also held for children, including bun-eating, eye-placing on the elephant, and balloon-blowing, ensuring the celebration was inclusive and enjoyable for families.
