NEW COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SLSC ASSUMES DUTIES

Major General GLSW Liyanage USP nps psc assumed office as the 18th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) on 16 January 2025 at the SLSC Regimental Centre.

The day commenced with a warm welcome from Centre Commandant Brigadier TS Liyanagunawardana and a Guard Turnout at the entrance. The Colonel Commandant then paid tribute to fallen war heroes by laying a floral wreath at the monument in their honor.

Following this, he received the salute during a ceremonial parade at the Regimental Centre parade ground. Later, he posed for a group photograph with the officers, marking the occasion.

Assuming formal duties his office, Major General GLSW Liyanage USP nps psc placed his signature on an official document amidst religious observances. Later addressing the all ranks, he emphasized his vision in parallel to the commander of the Army vision “Soldiers friendly Soldiers centered” for the Signal Regiment's future, setting the stage for continued excellence. For this occasion distance deployed all ranks joined virtual platform.

Traditional tea was hosted for all ranks, providing an opportunity for informal interaction. The Colonel Commandant then addressed all officers, including COs and council members, at the conference hall. The day's proceedings concluded with a lunch at the Regimental Officers’ Mess.
