The Signals Seva Vanitha branch conducted a donation programme on Thursday 31st October. A sewing machine was donated for Mrs Udeshika Bandara, the wife of a soldier serving in the School of Signals.
The selected beneficiaries are having four children and Mrs Udeshika is unable to attend for a job amidst her household commitments. Considering the situation faced by the family, the Seva Vanitha branch decided to donate a sewing machine which will pave the way for her to start her own business.
The donation was also included with a stock of threads covering a wide range of colours and varieties. School bags and other accessories were also donated for the children. Milk packets were also gifted which will be continued as a monthly contribution considering the nutritional requirements of young children.
The recipients were invited to the School of Signals premises and the Signals Seva Vanitha branch President together with the other members took part in executing the donations. Also, all of them made it an occasion to interact / exchange views with the members of the selected family.
