Under the esteemed patronage of Major General KMG Bandaranayake USP ndc psc, Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, the Officers’ Training Day for the first quarter of 2026 was successfully conducted with the participation of 104 Officers on 21 Jan 2026 at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Signal Corps (RHQ SLSC), Panagoda.
The training day begins with the advance Fat Burning Workout Session, conducted at the playground by instructors from the Army Physical Training School, Panagoda. After that, Officers refresh their sword drill skills with the help of Drill Instructors at RHQ SLSC.
Subsequently, a group presentation was conducted by officers from JCC 34 and JSC 30 on “Future Battlefield Communication System in SL Army”. The session emphasized the importance of updating to the modern technologies and how to face the emerging challenges in sense of reliable communication. The session was followed by the fruitful Question and Answer session which help to enhanced the knowledge of Officers to execute well in communication tasks.
During the recreation, cricket tournament was organized to foster camaraderie, team spirit, and unity among the officers. The day concluded with the Diners’ Club at the Regimental Officers’ Mess, Panagoda. At the invitation of the Colonel Commandant, Major General MDUV Gunathilake (Retd) ndu USACGSC graced the event as the guest speaker. He delivered insightful lecture on "Steering Life to Excellence through Challenges”. The session was a resounding success, featuring an interactive Q & A session and enthusiastic participation of all Senior Officers / Officers.
At the conclusion of the session, the Chief Signal Officer and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps expressed his appreciation for Major General MDUV Gunathilake (Retd) ndu USACGSC and presented him with a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution.
