SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS TROOPS BID FAREWELL TO RETIRING CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER AND THE COLONEL COMMANDANT

Major General IHMRK Herath USP ndc psc, the retiring Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps received a customary farewell on Friday 03 January 2025 at the SLSC Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda before relinquishing his duties after an exemplary service of 35 years.

The arriving Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by Brigadier TS Liyanagunawardana, Centre Commandant of SLSC and was greeted with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Subsequently, he was invited to pay a flora tribute to the SLSC War Heroes’ Monument and was ushered to the parade square to receive the honour of a ceremonial parade presented by the SLSC troops.

Afterwards, he posed for a few group photographs with all Officers and took part in a tea arrangement at the Warrant Officers and Sergeants' Mess before he participated in an All-Ranks lunch where he addressed the troops.

Later on, he penned down some complimentary remarks on the visitor’s book at the Colonel Commandant’s Office and soon after, a street lining bade farewell to the retiring Senior Officer.

As dusk fell, a traditional Mess Night was hosted in the name of the retiring Major General IHMRK Herath USP ndc psc at the SLSC Officers’ Mess. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also took part in those series of events.
