SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS SNCOS EXCEL AT IT (SPL) DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM COURSE NO 40 IN INDIA

Two Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) from the Sri Lanka Signal Corps have distinguished themselves with exceptional performances at the prestigious international military training institute India, bringing great credit to the Sri Lanka Army and as well as Corps of Signals. Warrant Officer 2 Silva TCV and Staff Sergeant Rajapaksha KKKDA has represented the Corps with distinction at the IT (Spl) Database Management System Course No 40, held from 11th August to 31st October 2025 at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow, India.

The intensive course was designed to develop participants technical expertise and practical understanding of database design, develop and administration. It aimed to equip learners with the essential skills to manage, organize, and secure data efficiently using modern database technologies and tools. Through hands-on sessions, real-world projects, and theoretical insights, the program fostered analytical thinking, and essential data management concepts.

A total of 33 students participated for the course including two representatives from Sri Lanka Signal Corps and others from India, Fiji, Nepal, Myanmar and Kazakhstan. Among them Staff Sergeant S/284239 Rajapaksha KKKDA accomplished a remarkable achievement by winning the “best project” title for developing an innovative Canteen Billing Management System. This achievement highlighted the student’s creativity, technical skill, and strong grasp of database management principles, bringing pride and recognition to Sri Lanka Signal Corps on an internation learning platform.

The participation and success of our SNCOs in such international forums not only provide invaluable individual experience but also foster crucial military-to-military cooperation, strengthening relationships with allied nations.
