The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps marked a significant milestone in its welfare initiatives on 10th February 2026 with the successful completion and handing over of newly built house to a Warrant Officer II Nissanka Bandara WM of 3rd Regiment of Sri Lanka Signal Corps (3 SLSC).
This welfare project was initiated under the guidance of the former President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Mrs. Ayesha Liyanage and was subsequently continued and successfully completed under the leadership of the incumbent President, Mrs. Sajeewani Bandaranayake. The project was undertaken with the noble objective of uplifting the living standards of a dedicated Warrant Officer who has rendered over two decades of loyal and commendable service to the Corps.
The project was completed within a period of six months, utilizing the skilled manpower of the Corps and was fully funded by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps. The initiative reflects the Corps’ unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of its personnel and their families. The successful completion of this welfare initiative was achieved under the continued supervision and guidance of the Commanding Officer of 3 SLSC and his spouse. Their leadership and commitment, together with the invaluable support and cooperation of all officers of the Regiment, greatly contributed to the success of this project.
The house warming ceremony was graced by the Colonel Commandant and the President of the Signal Seva Vanitha Branch as Chief Guests, together with senior officers of Sri Lanka Signal Corps and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch. The event was enriched with religious observances, including the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and the family ceremonially stepped into their new home at an auspicious time amidst the blessings of the clergy.
This housing project stands as a proud testament to the spirit of unity, compassion and collective responsibility upheld by the Sri Lanka Signal Corps and its Seva Vanitha Branch in caring for its own.
