The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SVB SLSC) ceremonially reopened the Mercury Plant Shop on 01 October 2025 with the gracious participation of senior members of SVB SLSC and senior officers of the Corps.
The event was graced by Mrs. Sujatha Liyanage, beloved mother of the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, who attended as the Chief Guest. On this special occasion, she generously donated plants worth over Rs. 150,000, enriching the shop’s collection and adding immense value to its reopening.
Adding further significance to the event, Mrs. Ayesha Liyanage, President SVB-SLSC, also made a generous donation of plants worth more than Rs. 100,000, strengthening the initiative and reflecting the continuous commitment of the Seva Vanitha Branch towards welfare and sustainability.
The Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps was also present to witness the occasion, together with many senior members of SVB SLSC and officers of the Corps, whose participation brought great honour to the event.
The Mercury Plant Shop now reopens with a fresh vision, strengthened by the invaluable contributions of its well-wishers and the unwavering commitment of the Seva Vanitha Branch, ensuring its continued growth as a meaningful green initiative.
