Seva Vanitha branch of SLSC made a milestone of its welfare projects on 26th September 2024. A fully-fledged house was handed over to Mr. Nandana Amarasinghe; civil employee of SLSC.
The project was initiated with the guidance of the Colonel Commandant with a view of uplifting the living standards of the person who has a dedicated service of nearly three decades in SLSC.
The selected employee lived in a partially constructed house which covered by wooden walls. The project will ease the living of the couple and further, it will brighten the future of two children where one child is schooling and the other one is one and half years of age.
The house is consisted with living room, verandah, two bed rooms, bathroom and a kitchen. The project was completed within six months utilizing the man power of the corps and the generous contributions made by serving and retired members of the family of signals and other well-wishers. Furniture and other house hold items were also donated by the members of the Seva Vanitha branch lending a helping hand for the family.
The president of the Signal Seva Vanitha branch together with other members graced the event, which was embedded with lighting of traditional oil lamp and religious activities. The members of the family stepped in to their new house on an auspicious time amidst the blessings of the clergy.
