Colonel Anuradha Mendis psc of the Corps of Signals of Sri Lanka Army has been hand-picked by the ‘Daniel K Enouye’ Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies (APCSS) in Honolulu, Hawaii (USA) to perform as an internationally selected Alumni Seminar Leader (Role of Directing Staff / Officer Instructor) of the Comprehensive Security Cooperation course number one in the year 2025 (CSC 2025-1).
Before this selection, Colonel Anuradha Mendis got himself selected to follow the first Comprehensive Security Cooperation Course in the year 2022 (CSC 2022-1) at the same institution in the USA, which was selected through the ELC Test and an interview conducted by the Embassy of the USA in Colombo. Accordingly, he successfully followed the course at the APCSS, Hawaii in 2022 together with nearly hundred other Fellows from different countries in the Indo-Pacific Region. During the course, with his performing experience as a Directing Staff at the DSCSC Sri Lanka, he actively participated all the course activities, and at the end, he got qualified in the course with “Black Letters on Golden Lanyard”. Later, after arriving back in Sri Lanka, he also successfully completed and submitted the “Fellow’s Project” to the APCSS, which is a continuing part of the CSC course curriculum to get further recognized, and finally achieved the “Red Letters on Golden Lanyard” that has a high recognition in the USA and the APCSS Community worldwide.
As a practice, APCSS USA evaluate and select one or two Fellows from the alumni of previous courses to perform as an Alumni Seminar Leader / Instructor of the ongoing course. Consequently, based on the past meritorious performance, APCSS USA invited Colonel Anuradha Mendis, through the Embassy of the USA in Colombo and MOD in Sri Lanka, to perform as an internationally selected Alumni Seminar Leader / Instructor of the Comprehensive Security Cooperation Course One in 2025 (CSC 2025-1), which is the first time that the USA offered such an opportunity to a Sri Lankan.
Accordingly, Colonel Anuradha Mendis psc visited APCSS, Hawaii, USA and successfully completed his international role as the internationally selected Alumni Seminar Leader / Instructor of CSC Course 2025-1 with much merits and recognition that was conducted from 05.02.2025 to 12.03.2025 with the participation of 82 Fellows from 35 countries around the world. There, he also personally exploited this opportunity to obtain more course vacancies to Sri Lanka with future possibilities for more Sri Lankans to take part in the same instructor role.
