COLONEL DMS DISSANAYAKE USP psc ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 32ND COMMANDANT OF THE SCHOOL OF SIGNALS

In a dignified military ceremony held on 30 December 2025, Colonel DMS Dissanayake USP psc officially assumed duties as the 32nd Commandant of the School of Signals, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s proud history.

Upon his arrival at the School premises, the incoming Commandant was warmly welcomed and accorded a Guard Turnout, followed by a ceremonial parade.

In a symbolic gesture of growth and continuity, Colonel Saman Dissanayake proceeded to plant a mango sapling, a tradition that signifies a new beginning. This was followed by a group photograph taken with the permanent staff of the School of Signals.

Thereafter, amidst blessings from religious dignitaries, Colonel Saman Dissanayake formally signed the official document of appointment, symbolizing the acceptance of his new responsibilities as a Commandant.

Addressing the gathering of officers and other ranks, the newly appointed Commandant outlined his vision and aspirations for the future of the School of Signals, emphasizing professional excellence, innovation, and unity.

The day’s proceedings concluded with all ranks tea party, where Colonel Saman Dissanayake engaged warmly with the troops.
