The Chief Signal Officer Visits 1 SLSC at Kilinochchi

The Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), Major General I H M R K Herath USP ndc psc, marked his maiden visit to 1 SLSC on 13 June 2024, after taking over duties as the Colonel Commandant of SLSC.

Major GTK De Silva RSP USP Lsc, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Major General I H M R K Herath USP ndc psc on arrival and subsequently a ceremonial guard turnout was awarded at the main entrance in accordance with military formalities.

Adding memories to the day, he planted a ‘Mangifera' sapling in the premises and posed a group photograph with all unit officers. Addressing the troops, the Colonel Commandant of SLSC emphasized on harnessing professionalism whilst preserving highest standards of discipline during their career progression. Further he elaborated the importance of unity and bond between the Officers and Other Ranks in unit lines.

Later, an all ranks tea was organized to share their thoughts and wishes with the Colonel Commandant. Meantime he visited the Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute (RITTI) and Signal Medium Workshop, Kokavil.

Subsequently, General I H M R K Herath USP ndc psc, participated in a comprehensive briefing conducted by the Commanding Officer and finally he penned some complimentary remarks in the Visitors Book. Lastly the Major General I H M R K Herath USP ndc psc shared his views with officers during the lunch at The Lakeside bungalow. The Deputy Center Commandant – RHQ SLSC and the General Staff Officer 1 (EW) - Office of CSO also participated in the event.
