THE CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER AND THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS VISITED 9 REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

The Chief Signal Officer and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General IHMRK Herath USP ndc psc visited 9 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Mullaitivu on 14 June 2024. This was his first official visit to the 9 Regiment after assuming duties as the Chief Signal Officer & the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signals Corps.

Major KMIP Hemapala USP psc, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Major General Ravi Herath on arrival and subsequently a ceremonial guard turnout was presented at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Then the group photograph was taken with All Ranks followed by planting a ‘Sandal wood tree’ sapling to mark the visit.

The Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps addressed the troops and highlighted that how to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their career progression. Further he elaborated importance of unity and bond between the Officers and subordinates in unit lines at the end of his address.

Later, beyond a traditional tea party Chief Signal Officer joined for an all ranks fruit party which is in line with the theme of healthy Army healthy nation where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks.

Before concluding the day’s itinerary, Chief Signal Officer & Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps with all officers gathered at the Officers’ Mess function and compliments in the Visitors’ Book before the culmination of the day's proceedings.
