REMARKS ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIFTEENANNIVERSARY OF 613 INFANTRY BRIGADE

The 15th Anniversary of 613 Infantry Brigade was celebrated with simplicity, pride and honour on 20 January 2026. The celebrations were followed by a series of military traditions. As the first phase, pilgrims were conducted on 19 January 2026 to bless all serving Officers andOther Ranks and to pay homage to those Officers and Other Ranks who sacrificed and devoted their lives for the motherland. A charming bodhi pooja was organized to offfer prayers and wishes for the speedy recovery of all who were disabled due to war. The events were initiated under the direction by the Commander, 613 Infantry Brigade,Colonel BKSL Rodrigo RSP.

Subsequently, on 20 January 2026, to mark the Brigade’s anniversary, a Guard Turnout was presented to the Commander of 613 Infantry Brigade by the troops of 3 (V) Gemunu Watch at the 613 Infantry Brigade Headquarters premises. Apart from that, a flag hoisting ceremony was held, followed by a tea party and lunch for all ranks at the Brigade Headquarters. On 21 January, a lunch and book donation event for 23 students were conducted at the Buddhist Lady Children Home, Matara sponsored by all members of 613 Infantry Brigade and supporting donors.
