Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (West), conducted his inaugural visit to the 143 Infantry Brigade on 5th November.
The visit commenced with a formal drive-past in his honor, followed by a warm reception from the General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division, the Deputy General Officer Commanding, and the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade.
The visit included a comprehensive briefing by the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade on the brigade's role, responsibilities, and operational readiness. Major General Lanka Amarapala later visited the Brigade Headquarters, where he marked the occasion by planting a commemorative sapling and inscribing his thoughts in the Visitors' Book
The schedule also included a visit to the 16th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, where Major General Lanka Amarapala was honored with a customary drive-past. Afterward, the Commander Security Forces (West), addressed the troops, emphasizing their responsibilities toward national security. In his address, he further highlighted the importance of maintaining military discipline and professionalism. Following his address, the Commander visited the Battalion Headquarters area.
