THE COMMANDER 571 INFANTRY BRIGADE ASSUMES DUTIES

Colonel HHSPS De Silva RSP USP, assumed office as the 16th Officiating Commander of the 571 Infantry Brigade, deployed at Lihinigiriya, Pothuhera, Kurunegala on 02 November 2024 at an auspicious moment after a brief ceremony.

The taking over proceedings commenced with a customary Guard Turnout accorded to the new Brigade Commander at the brigade’s main entrance by the 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard. Subsequently, the newly appointed Brigade Commander placed his signature in an official document signifying the formal acceptance of his new responsibilities.

Adding a memory to his inauguration of the office, the Brigade Commander planted a sapling at Brigade Headquarters’ premises. Outlining his vision and responsibilities entrusted to the brigade, the Brigade Commander conducted his formal troop address. The day’s ceremony culminated with sharing his thoughts with the troops at All Ranks Tea which marked the reception of the new Brigade Commander. Commanding Officers, Staff Officers and Other Ranks of 571 Infantry Brigade and Under Command Battalions participated in this ceremony.
