The Security Forces Headquarters (West) celebrated its 12th anniversary with a series of meaningful events organized under the guidance of Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (West).
As part of the commemorative activities, a traditional and spiritually significant Bodhi Pooja ceremony took place on November 18th at the Bodhirajaramaya Temple in Panagoda with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General Lanka Amarapala. Adding vibrancy to the event, a colorful Pooja Perehera further enriched the spiritual ambiance. The ceremony, conducted by the Chief Monk of Sri Jayathilakaramaya, Venerable Omalpe Dhammaloka Thero, invoked blessings for the staff, their families, and the memory of fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The event underscored the enduring values of gratitude, unity, and spiritual strength within the Security Forces Headquarters (West).
The event was graced by, Senior officers including Brigadier General Staff SFHQ (West), Logistics Commander SFHQ (West),Brigadier Administration and Quartering of SFHQ (West), along with staff officers, other ranks, and civil servants, reflecting the collective spirit of the Security Forces Headquarters (West).
