Under the prudent directions of 57 Infantry Division Commander Major General ADML Samaradiwakara RWP RSP nde pse and the close supervision and guidance of 571 Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier HHSPS de Silva, a contingent comprising 01x15 troops promptly responded to a sudden fire that broke out in the surrounding jungle area of the Sapugaskanda Wijayasundararamaya. The troops, together with the Grama Niladhari and the residents of the area, took prompt action to control the fire. The collective effort successfully controlled the fire and prevented further damage to the temple surrounding, nearby houses and to the environment.
This swift and effective response exemplifies the continued commitment of Army to the civilian community whenever required.
