GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 61 INFANTRY DIVISION INSPECTS 573 INFANTRY BRIGADE CONSTRUCTION

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 61 Infantry Division, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, along with Senior Officers, including the Colonel (Coordinate) and Colonel (Admin & Quartering) 61 Infantry Division, conducted an inspection visit to the 573 Infantry Brigade Headquarters located at Pitigala Camp on 06th January 2025.

Upon arrival at the 573 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, Major General K T P De Silva was warmly welcomed by the Brigade Commander, Colonel S W P M H R Senadheera RWP USP psc, and was presented with a Guard Turnout.

During the visit, the Brigade Commander briefed the GOC on the progress achieved since the establishment of the 573 Infantry Brigade on 25 July 2024. The briefing included updates on the short-term, mid-term, and long-term activities planned under the "Clean Sri Lanka" program.

Following the briefing, the GOC inspected the newly constructed facilities, including the entrance gate, Non Commissioned Officers' bathing facilities, sanitation system, Officers' bathrooms, and the Brigade Commander's chalet. These constructions were completed within a month of the new Brigade Commander assuming duties on 4 December 2024. The visit concluded with a group photograph before the GOC's departure.
