Dharma Deshana Held at Sri Bodhirajaramaya Temple Panagoda

A special Dharma Deshana was held at the Sri Bodhirajaramaya Temple in Panagoda on 24 May 2025, bringing together military personnel, their families, and local civilians for an evening of spiritual enrichment. The sermon was delivered by the Most Venerable Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thero, a highly respected monk known for his insightful teachings and calm presence.

The event was organized under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, with the aim of promoting spiritual well-being and mindfulness among the military community and the public. Many senior officers from the Security Forces Headquarters (West) attended the event, including the Logistics Commander (West) Maj General E M G A Ambanpola, the General Officer Commanding 14 Division Major General K J N M P K Nawarathne RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding 57 Division Major General K D M L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, and several other senior officers and officers from various formations under SFHQ (West).

The main participants of the Dharma Deshana were the families of army officers and soldiers living in and around the Panagoda Army Cantonment. A large number of civilians from the Panagoda area also joined the event, showing the strong bond between the military and the local community.

The sermon by Ven. Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thero focused on the importance of inner peace, compassion, and righteous living. His message emphasized mindfulness and unity, which deeply resonated with the audience.

The event was a part of the continuing efforts by the Sri Lanka Army to support the spiritual and mental well-being of its personnel and the general public.
