In line with a concept of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and in conjunction with Christmas 2025, a Christmas religious observance and gift distribution programme was successfully conducted on 23 December 2025 at Abimansala 3 Wellness Resort.
The event was organized with the objective of uplifting the morale of disabled war heroes undergoing treatment at the wellness resort, as well as their dedicated caretakers. As part of the programme, a Catholic religious prayer service was held, followed by the distribution of Christmas gifts as a gesture of appreciation, care, and gratitude for their immense sacrifices rendered to the nation.
The occasion was graced by the General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division, Major General K M V Kodituwakku ndu as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by the Commandant Abimansala III Pangolla, Commander 571 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 5 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and Commanding Officer of 9 Sri Lanka National Guard, along with a number of senior officers and other ranks.
The programme reflected the Sri Lanka Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare, dignity, and wellbeing of its war heroes, reaffirming that their sacrifices will always be remembered and honoured.
