Under the prompt action and guidance of the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, the upgraded Vehicle Service Station at the Headquarters of the 61 Infantry Division was officially inaugurated on Monday, 16 December 2024.
This newly upgraded service station, established under the command and supervision of the Commanding Officer 1 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, provides a significant logistical advantage by offering convenient access to regular vehicle servicing for the 116 Army vehicles operating within the 61 Infantry Division’s Area of Responsibility. The initiative eliminates the need for additional expenses or extended travel for vehicle maintenance, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Brigadier W M L S Dayawansa, the Deputy General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, the Commanding Officer of 1 SLASC, Senior Officers, Officers, and a gathering of Other Ranks from the 61 Infantry Division.
