141 INFANTRY BRIGADE HOSTS A LECTURE ON CURRENT ISSUES RELATED TO DANGEROUS DRUG USE IN SRI LANKA

141 Infantry Brigade organized a significant lecture on 19 December 2024 at the Brigade Lecture Hall in Veyangoda. This event was held under the directives of the Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health Services and the conceptual guidance of the Commander, 141 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier R R De S Dharmawikrema RSP.

The lecture, aimed at raising awareness and educating the troops about the critical issues related to dangerous drug use in Sri Lanka, was conducted by two distinguished professionals Mr. I.M.C.P. Karunarathne, Media Spokesman and Education/Information Officer of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (Ministry of Public Security) and Mrs. S. Nilmini Abeysekara, a Counseling Psychologist.

The session witnessed active participation, with 14 Officers and 142 Other Ranks in attendance. The interactive format of the lecture encouraged meaningful discussions, allowing participants to ask questions and share experiences, thereby enriching the learning experience.

This initiative highlights the Brigade’s commitment to promoting awareness and fostering mental well-being among its personnel.
