Following the reconstruction work of the bridge in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which was damaged due to Cyclone Dithva, the project was successfully completed under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division. On 23 December 2025, the newly repaired bridge was officially handed over for public use.
Personnel contributions for the project included a team of 01 x 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 02 x 12 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineer Regiment, 00 x 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Service, and 00 x 03 soldiers from the Medical Corps of the 52 Division. In addition, 00 x 21 members of the Indian Army and 14 officers from the Road Development Authority participated in the bridge reopening ceremony.
