Under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division, reconstruction work of the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which was damaged due to the recent “Dithva” cyclone, was carried out today (22 December 2025).
For this task, a team consisting of 01 x 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 02 x 12 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineer Regiment, and 00 x 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Service Regiment participated. In addition, 00 x 03 soldiers from the medical unit of the 52 Division and 14 members from the Road Development Authority joined the effort. They provided assistance to the 04 x 37 member team of the Indian Army, including engineers, who are engaged in the construction of the new bridge.
