Under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division, reconstruction work on the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which was damaged due to Cyclone Dithva, was carried out today (21 December 2025).
For this task, a contingent comprising 01 x 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 02 x 20 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineers Regiment, and 00 x 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Service Regiment participated. In addition, 00 x 03 personnel from the medical unit of the 52 Infantry Division and 14 officers from the Road Development Authority assisted the 03 x 38 soldiers of the Indian Army delegation and engineers engaged in constructing the new bridge.
