Troops of the 51 Infantry Division under Security Force Headquarters Jaffna continued their community assistance operations across the Jaffna Peninsula on 10 December 2025, marking the eighth consecutive day of sustained CIMIC oriented activities across the Division area of responsibility. All three brigades under command remained engaged in supporting flood affected communities through school cleaning programmes, well restoration work and direct household assistance as the region continued to recover from the adverse weather conditions brought on by Cyclone Ditwah.
Under the 511 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 15 Sri Lanka National Guard conducted a cleaning programme at Neervely Attiar Hindu College in J/269 Neervely South employing 01 officer with 10 soldiers to restore the flood affected school premises and ensure a usable environment for students and staff. Meanwhile, troops of the 9 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment continued their community support tasks in J/254 Palali North, Anthonypuram, where clean drinking water was distributed to affected civilians using a battalion water bowser with 01 officer with 05 soldiers engaged in the operation.
Under the 512 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 14 Gajaba Regiment conducted a cleaning programme at J/Katheeja Maha Vidyalaya in J/86 Moor Street South, where the school, attended predominantly by Muslim children, had been polluted by flood water following the adverse weather conditions. A team of 01 officer with 15 soldiers cleaned the facility restoring the premises for the benefit of students and staff.
Under the 513 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 10 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment continued their assistance to flood affected families in J/212 Mallakam, where a team of 01 officer with 10 soldiers supported residents in cleaning their houses following the recent heavy rains. In addition, troops of the 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment conducted a cleaning programme at Saraswathi Pre School in J/162 Araly South, deploying 01 officer with 10 soldiers to clean the preschool premises for the local community.
As community assistance operations progressed into their eighth consecutive day, troops of the 51 Infantry Division continued to demonstrate steady commitment to supporting communities across the Jaffna Peninsula. Through the restoration of schools, support to flood affected households and sustained cleaning operations, the Division remained dedicated to safeguarding the wellbeing of civilians and strengthening community resilience as recovery efforts advanced throughout the peninsula.
