The GOC’s Challenge Trophy Volleyball Tournament 2025 was successfully held over two days at the Volleyball Court of 552 Infantry Brigade, Poonaryn, showcasing an exceptional level of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among the participating Battalion teams under 55 Division.
The tournament concluded with an exhilarating final match between 7 SLLI and 11 GR(V), where both teams demonstrated remarkable skill and determination. After a closely contested game, 11 GR(V) emerged as the champions of The GOC’s Challenge Trophy Volleyball tournament, securing the coveted title.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Major General W.M.A.B. Wijekoon USP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, who graced the event with his presence. His attendance added great prestige to the occasion and served as a source of inspiration and encouragement to all participants.
The event concluded with heartfelt expressions of appreciation to the organizers, officials, and players for their invaluable contributions. The tournament was a resounding success, embodying the true spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and 55 Infantry division pride.
