Awarding of the Honourafic Title of Janajaya Sadana Samaggha Sri Deshabandu to Commander Security Forces (Jaffna)

Dimbulagala Regional Education Authority had organized an awarding ceremony anually to award honourafic title for people, who have done a tremendous effort for the perpetuation of Buddhist culture, sacrificed their lives for the sake of patriotism, public safety and welfare.

In appreciation of the service rendered for the development of Welikanda area and specially for the socio - cultural and religious activities, the "Janajaya Sadana Samaggha Sri Deshabandu honourafic title’’ award was conferred on the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, who served as the Commander of the Security Forces (East) on 30 July 2023 at the Welikanda Cultural Centre. The honourafic title was awarded by Sinhapura Chethiyalankara Thero. Further, the award was conferred on the present Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Darshana Wijesekera, Chief Engineer (Former General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division) Major General Shewanth Kulatunga and to another devotee.

Performances done by Dhamma School Children brought glamour into this ceremony. Prefects investiture ceremony was also held on the same day. During the ceremony Maha Sanga of the area, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians were participated in the event.
