Under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division, reconstruction work on the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which was damaged due to the Ditta tropical cyclone, was carried out today (19 December 2025).
For this task, a troop contingent of 01x 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 02 x 20 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineer Regiment, 00 x 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Service, and 00 x 03 soldiers from the medical unit of the 52 Infantry Division provided assistance.
Additionally, 14 personnel from the Road Development Authority joined hands with 03 x 40 engineers and representatives from the Indian Army who are engaged in the construction of the new bridge.
