Under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division, restoration work on the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which was damaged due to the severe storm, continued today (2025.12.16).
For this task, a contingent of 01 officer with 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 01 officer with 20 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineers Regiment and 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Services Regiment were deployed. In addition, 14 personnel from the Road Development Authority were present to support the construction of the new bridge, together with 03 x 40 representatives and engineers from the Indian Army engaged in the bridge construction work.
Furthermore, with the participation of 01 officer with 08 soldiers from the 14 Sri Lanka National Guard, a drinking water well in the Dharmapuram area of Kilinochchi, which had become contaminated due to flooding, was cleaned and restored for public use.
