Repair work on the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which was damaged due to adverse weather conditions experienced in recent days, continued today (2025.12.14) under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division.
For this task, a total of 01 Officer with 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment 01 Officer with 15 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineers Regiment and 01 troop from the Corps Engineer Services were deployed. In addition, 14 personnel from the Road Development Authority also participated, providing assistance to 22 members Indian Army contingent, including engineers, who are engaged in the construction of the new bridge.
Furthermore, with the participation of 01 officer with 08 soldiers from the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, a drinking water well in the Anandapuram (East) area of Kilinochchi, which had become contaminated due to flooding, was cleaned and restored for public use.
