As part of its sustained commitment to humanitarian outreach and civil military engagement, the 51 Infantry Division, operating under Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, carried out special Christmas alms giving programme on 25 December 2025 at the Mother Teresa Elders Home, Irupalai, Kopay. The initiative, guided by the vision of the General Officer Cokommanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General MR Razick RSP ndu, was executed within the civil military cooperation framework of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion, promoting humanitarian values and providing tangible institutional support to vulnerable segments of the community.
During the programme, lunch and essential sanitary items were distributed among 40 beneficiaries, mainly senior citizens residing at the home. In addition, troops of the 51 Infantry Division carried out a comprehensive cleaning of the elders’ home premises, thereby contributing to the improvement of their living environment. This initiative served as a heartwarming and persuasive demonstration of the Sri Lanka Army’s practical commitment, under the aegis of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, to social responsibility, compassion and meaningful community engagement, with the 51 Infantry Division playing a decisive and leading role in translating intent into action, particularly during occasions of cultural and religious significance.
