In conjunction with World Children’s Day on 01 October 2025, the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) conducted a variety of welfare and entertainment programmes for children and families across the peninsula.
As per the instructions given by Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, a series of programmes in connection with the World Children’s day were held in SFHQ (J) AOR on 01 October 2025 under the supervision of Comd 51 Infantry Division, Comd 52 Infantry Division and Comd 55 Infantry Division.
Troops of the 15 Sri Lanka National Guard entertained the children of the Karunalayan Children’s Home by screening a Tamil film, while the children were also provided with soft drinks during the event. In parallel, troops of the 9 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry donated 10 dry ration packs to needy families in the area.
Meanwhile, troops of the 17 Gemunu Watch and 14 Gajaba Regiment, under the guidance of the 512 Infantry Brigade, served tea among preschool children. Similarly, troops of the 11 SLLI provided lunch for 17 children of the Waleisiyaari Preschool.
Meanwhile, troops of the 10 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, under the supervision of the 522 Infantry Brigade, carried out a book donation programme for students of the Championpaththu Senth Pilps Meris Preschool, followed by a lunch programme.
In parallel, the troops of the 11 Gajaba Regiment conducted an almsgiving for the children of the Aroban Children’s Home and distributed gift parcels. Additionally, troops of the 553 Infantry Brigade provided lunch for 17 children of the Manthi Preschool.
This event was organized and coordinated by the Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs, Colonel WMAM Nissanka with the participation of troops of under command Infantry Brigades.
