Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) Organized Clean Sri Lanka Programme

In line with the Clean Sri Lanka National Programme initiated by His Excellency the President to promote environmental sustainability across the island, the Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna, conducted a comprehensive coastal and road-cleaning campaign on 01 March 2025. The initiative covered a one-kilometre coastal strip from Palaly T Junction to Myladi, along with the adjacent land road.

The cleaning campaign was carried out under the directives of Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of the Security Forces in Jaffna, demonstrating their commitment to the national cause, more than 100 senior officers, officers and other ranks from the Security Force Headquarters actively participated in the effort. Among them was the Brigadier General Staff Officer Brigadier MPKL Amarasinghe WWP RWP RSP who played a pivotal role in coordinating the event.

This initiative reflects the Sri Lanka Army’s continued dedication to environmental protection and community well-being. The Clean Sri Lanka National Programme aims to instill a culture of cleanliness and sustainability among citizens while preserving the country’s natural beauty. The active involvement of military personnel in such endeavors underscores their broader role in national development beyond their primary duties of safeguarding the nation.

Local communities and stakeholders have welcomed the programme, acknowledging the positive impact of such efforts on maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment. The Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting similar initiatives in the future, ensuring the long-term success of the Clean Sri Lanka campaign.
