Relief Support For Displaced Families Affected By Cyclone Ditwah

In collaboration with the Nagaviharaya Buddhist Association and the Thavam Foundation, and with the support of the people of Jaffna, a donation programme was successfully conducted to provide essential relief to families affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Under this initiative, essential items and clothing were distributed on 22 December 2025 to 45 families sheltered at Matithenna Maha Vidyalaya and 180 families at Passara Madolsima Maha Vidyalaya in the Badulla District, while dry ration food packs were also provided to 100 families in Highforest, Nuwara Eliya District on 23 December 2025.

This humanitarian effort was carried out under the close supervision of Major General K. A. N. Rasika Kumara ndc psc , Commander Security Forces (Jaffna). The donations were generously provided by the Chief Priest of Nagaviharaya, Mr. Thawarasa Saththiyadas (Thavan Foundation), and his family members residing in Denmark, and distributed in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Army, with the primary objective of uplifting the livelihoods of the affected communities.
