The statue of Our Lady of Madhu is being taken on procession to parishes of the Dioceses in Jaffna Peninsula from 06 April to 30 April. The statue has been progressed around Palaly and reached St. Antony’s Church, Urany on 16 April. Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Force (Jaffna) visited the Church and joined the other devotees to welcome Our Lady of Madhu.
Rev. Father Eugene Francis and other Rev. Fathers warmly welcomed him at the entrance of the Church. Once the Statue of Our Lady of Madhu reached the Church Premises, traditional dancing troop welcomed the Our Lady of Madhu and the Jaffna Commander joined other devotees to welcome Our Lady and afterwards attended to invoke spiritual blessings.
Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, Logistics Commander of Jaffna, Brigadier KJNMPK Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, Brigadier General Staff, several other Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks participated from the military to invoke spiritual blessings along with thousands of civil devotees.
