Colonel LAR Gunaratne RSP USP IG assumed duties as the 29th Commander of the 512 Infantry Brigade on 20 January 2025 at the Headquarters of 512 Infantry Brigade, Jaffna amidst formal military traditions.
Upon arrival, the Commander was warmly welcomed by the Senior Staff Officer and the Commanding Officer of 14th Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment at the entrance of the Brigade and was accorded a Guard Turnout.
Then, the Commander placed his signature in formal documents symbolizing the assumption of duties. Further, the day’s programme was included an all Ranks tea, troops address and the staff briefing.
