Under the direction and guidance of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, a project aims to provide a better quality of life to Mrs. Balachandran Pavithra and her family in Elalai, Jaffna. The significant step towards uplifting the living conditions of a low-income family was taken with the laying of the foundation stone for a new house on 06 October 2025. The ceremony was attended by Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc as the chief guest marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to improve the families’ living situation.
This housing project is a part of the Civil-Military Cooperation activities led by the 51 Infantry Division, with labour support provided by the dedicated troops of 9(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the 511 Infantry Brigade. The project has been made possible through the generous financial assistance by the funds of Rev. S. Vesley Ariyarajah, facilitated by Vanni Aid Canada and coordinated by Major General Ravi Rathnasingham (Rtd) demonstrating the power of community and military cooperation.
