A cricket match between the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion and the Pachchpalei Divisional Secretariat Office staff team was organized on 03 October 2025 at the Palai Public Stadium. The event was aimed at fostering goodwill and strengthening the bond between the Sri Lanka Army and the staff of the Pachchpalei Divisional Secretariat.The Divisional Secretary of Pachchpalei and the Assistant Divisional Secretary graced the occasion with their presence.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc Commander Security Forces– Jaffna and under the supervision of Major General MN Fernando RSP, General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, and the Commander 522 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier JAC Karunathilaka RSP USP. The event was successfully organized by the Commanding Officer of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel HGE Hapukotuwa USP, with the support of his troops.
