Courtesy Visits Conducted by Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna)

The newly appointed Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, engaged in courtesy visits within the region on 23 December, met with Mr. L Illaangovan - Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, Mr. Nagalingam Vethanayahan - Honourable Governor of the Northern Province, Mr. M Piratheepan, the District Secretary of Jaffna and Rev. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam - Bishop of Jaffna at the Bishop’s House and workplaces respectively.

During the meetings, the dignitaries expressed gratitude for the Army’s significant role in constructing new houses for low-income families, cooperation in preventing illegal activities and conflicts in the area. They also commended for maintaining normalcy in the region and sought continued military assistance for future essential needs.

Before concluding the visit, Jaffna Commander presented a special token of appreciation to the respected dignitaries in each location.

The presence of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division, Commanders of 512 and 523 Infantry Brigades and Senior Officers of Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna) added significance to these visits.
