Major General BGS Fernando USP Hdmc psc, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, visited the Headquarters of 553 Infantry Brigade and the Under Command Battalions on 02 December 2024.
The General Officer Commanding was presented a drive pass at the main entrance of the Brigade Headquarters and thereafter briefing was conducted by Brigadier WAIS Mendis RSP USP, the Commander of 553 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers of 6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 14th Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard respectively.
Later a troop address was conducted at the Lecture Hall of the 553 Infantry Brigade with the participation of troops from the Brigade Headquarters and the Battalions. After visiting the Brigade Headquarters, GOC visited the Under Command Battalions.
