Due to the damages caused by Cyclone “Dithva,” reconstruction work on the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road was carried out today (17 December 2025) under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division.
For this task, a contingent of 01 x 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 01 x 15 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineer Regiment, and 00 x 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Service participated. In addition, a medical team consisting of 00 x 03 soldiers from the 52 Division’s Medical Unit and 14 members from the Road Development Authority provided support.
