52 Infantry Division troops under the supervision of Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) conducted multiple disaster-response and public-health operations across the area of responsibility on 10 December 2025.
Troops of the 11 Vijayaba Infantry Regiment promptly responded by distributing drinking water to the residents of the Thondaimanaru (South) Grama Niladhari Division, ensuring uninterrupted access to safe water for affected families during the emergency.
Meanwhile, the 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment undertook a series of urgent cleanup and restoration tasks at the Kovilvayal CCTM School premises, which had been impacted by heavy rain and flooding. The troops removed accumulated wastewater, cleared garbage, and carried out roof-cleaning and well-cleaning operations to safeguard the health and safety of the schoolchildren and staff.
These timely efforts by the Sri Lanka Army highlight their continued commitment to supporting communities and mitigating the effects of natural disasters.
