As part of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Programme’ initiated under the vision of His Excellency the president, a cleaning initiative was organized by Security Forces (Jaffna), headed by Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc - the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) and the supervision of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc - the General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division on 21 January 2025.
The troops of 511, 512 and 513 Infantry Brigades, joined hands with the Archaeological Department - Jaffna, Municipal Council - Jaffna, Sri Lanka Police and the local civilian community to revitalize the historic Jaffna Fort heritage site, its surrounding and either sides of the road, Jaffna – Palaly.
This collaborative effort was a proud contribution to the "Clean Sri Lanka" initiative, carried out under the uplifting theme, "Beautiful Island, Smiling People". With unity and determination, they transformed this iconic landmark into a cleaner and more attractive space, celebrating the shared heritage and beauty of the nation.
Mr. L Illangovan - Chief Secretary of Northern Province, Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc - the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), Mr. M Piratheepan - District Secretary of Jaffna, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc - the General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division, Mr. Srimohanan - Additional Secretary (Land), District Secretary of Jaffna, Dr. Saman Pthirana - Director of Health Services, Northern Province, Commanders of 511 and 512 Infantry Brigades, Mr. Suresh - Chief Engineer of Municipal Council, Jaffna, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Rankers participated for the cleaning programme.
