51 Infantry Division Conducted CIMIC Outreach at Jaffna Arms - Giving Ceremony for Karunalayam Children’s Home

Under the strategic direction of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, a Civil Military Coordination activity was conducted in Jaffna on 10th September 2025. The event focused on uplifting the welfare of under privileged communities, specifically through an arms giving ceremony held at the Karunalayam Children’s Home. This initiative reflects the Sri Lanka Army’s continued commitment to humanitarian outreach and social responsibility in post conflict regions. The activity fostered goodwill and trust between the military and the local civilian population.

Troops of 51 Infantry division, played a pivotal role in the successful organization and execution of the event. Their efforts were further supported by the generous financial assistance of Mr. Krishnan Menan owner of Star food city groups, who’s contributions ensured the success of the programme. The event stands as a testament to the Army’s integrated approach to community engagement, aiming to build long-term relationships and support systems within the Jaffna area.
