Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Headquarters at Ambepussa, together with its hundreds of Army members & Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit contributed to the successful Vesak Ceremony on 10th May 2017 by conducting a Boodhi Pooja Pinkama at Regimental Centre with Common Gram Dansel organized by Sinha seva Vanitha Unit at the entrance of Regimental Centre.

Major General D C Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc who promoted to the rank of Major General after rendering a valuable service to the Sri Lanka Army as well as to the motherland was felicitated at the Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Ambepussa on 27th May 2017.After the guard turn out & guard of honour, Maj Gen Keppetiwalana participated for the tea party organized by the Warrant Officers Sergeants' Mess and planted a sapling to mark the occasion.The day\'s event also textured with the Farewell Lunch hosted in honour of the newly promoted Major General by all Officers of the Regiment at the Officers\' Mess.

11 SLSR celebrated its 23rd anniversary with a series of ceremonies which culminated in the Battalion Day on 16 April 2017. A Guard turnout accorded to the Commanding Officer Major EDTPE Bandara and had orgnized a All Ranks Lunch at battalion headquarters.
In parallel with the ceremony there had organized a volleyball tournament & tug of war tournament with the participation of all companies.

Troops at the Regimental centre had a New Year festival organized at the regimental ground on 29th April 2017.Brigadier B A L Ratnayake, Centre Commandant SLSR graced the event as the Chief Guest.The New Year festival got off giving prominence to traditional games and other fun-making events.Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks with their family members serving the RHQ SLSR attended the New Year celebration.
